New Year’s Eve in Times Square, New York City

The eve of 2011 into 2012 was a rare but extraordinary experience that deserves a place on our bucket list. All pieces perfectly fell into place, and we were able to ring in the new year atop the crowds of Times Square. Being at eye level with the ball, sharing the rooftop with all major broadcast networks and their camera crews, we truly felt like we were floating on top of the world. Once the countdown was on, we collected handfulls of confetti and threw them into the crowds as the clock struck midnight! If you get the chance to celebrate a New Year’s in a similar fashion, here are a few tips we’d recommend:

Must know – helpful tips

  • Wait for the crowds to clear before leaving your party
  • Manage your expectations for bars/lounges following midnight, as most in the Times Square area will be very crowded
  • Taxis/Ubers will also be hard to find and/or very expensive if you wait too long after midnight to go home
